JLR Announces Name Change with Electric Vehicle Initiative

As vehicle manufacturers progress toward an electric future, Jaguar Land Rover plans to reimagine their vision with a house of iconic brands, Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar. Along with the official name change to JLR from Jaguar Land Rover, JLR has announced a sustainability-rich plan to be carbon net zero by 2039, deliver fully-electric models from both Jaguar and Land Rover by 2025, and continue to pioneer technology within their vehicles. 

Recent statements from JLR state they plan to be an “Electric-first, modern luxury carmaker” by 2030 and will invest $18.7 billion over the next five years, upgrading its facilities in the UK to make electric vehicles, according to a press release. 

With the advancement of Electric vehicle production, JLR will begin taking orders for the first all-electric Range Rover later this year, expected to launch in 2025. JLR also plans to introduce new battery-powered models into the Jaguar family in 2025, and JLR stated, “And, where possible, the Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E Team will continue to provide our technologies and partnerships with the ultimate real-world test bed on the journey to electrification.”

The Land Rover name remains visible on and in our vehicles, reinforcing our off-road credentials and technology capabilities.”.
