The Land Rover brand is home to three families: the Range Rover, Defender, and Discovery. At Land Rover OKC, we’ve compiled research about all your favorite Land Rover SUVs, from the Range Rover to the Discovery. Range Rover Model Research
The Range Rover name remains the most recognizable in Land Rover’s arsenal, and it’s well-earned. Ranger Rovers place more emphasis on luxury amenities and premium materials than the Defender or Discovery classes, but the Range Rover still maintains its off-road capability.
Range Rover
The Range Rover is a celebrity in its own right, often used as the daily driver for musicians, actors, and the Royal Family. The cabin is rich and full of technology, while the exterior is monolithic and clean, offering a striking profile at any angle. The Range Rover can be equipped with your choice of various turbocharged V-6s and V-8s, helping it conquer all sorts of difficult terrain.
Range Rover Sport
If the Range Rover is the pinnacle of luxury, the Sport isn’t far off. The Sport is the younger sibling, and as such, it’s smaller and lighter on its feet. It’s nearly every bit as luxurious as its namesake, but the Range Rover Sport’s smaller size makes it an even more willing off-road champ, able to make tighter turns and navigate terrain the larger SUV might not be up for.
Range Rover Velar
The two-row Range Rover Velar is about half the price of its namesake, and the compact frame emphasizes the sleek look of the Range Rover family without the heft of the larger SUVs. This SUV is still plenty capable off-road, though it’s not as adept as more expensive models. The Velar is an upscale daily commuter that’s more than willing to jaunt off-road on occasion.
Range Rover Evoque
The Evoque serves as an entry point to the Range Rover brand. It’s highlighted by its classic Range Rover styling and a smart cabin laden with technology. It’s probably the least capable off-road option on our lot, but it still gets standard all-wheel drive. The Evoque is built for comfortable daily commuting in style.
Land Rover Defender Model Research
If you’re looking for Land Rover’s most capable collection of SUVs, you’ll find it in the Defender class. Of course, the Defender is a luxury SUV, but its chunkier design contrasts with the Range Rover, allowing it to adopt a more rugged demeanor. Defenders are our best off-road SUVs.

Land Rover Defender 90
For our money, the Land Rover Defender 90 might be the most fun you’ll have in a Rover. The compact 90 has two doors and rowdy engines, making it one of the most recognizable silhouettes on our lot. It’s a ready-and-willing off-road machine and comes standard with four-wheel drive and locking differentials. Maximize your thrills with the Defender 90’s optional V-8 powertrain.
Land Rover Defender 110
The Defender 110 shares a lot with the 90, but it adds a pair of doors. Like the 90, the Defender 110 is ready to conquer any terrain you throw at it, and it’s offered with the same powertrain options, including a handful of V-6s, a V-8, turbochargers, and a supercharger. I have a versatile cabin that seats five to seven passengers.
Land Rover Defender 130
The Land Rover Defender 130 is one of the largest SUVs on our lot, and like the rest of the Defenders we’ve mentioned so far, it shares the same engines, four-wheel drive system, and locking differentials. The 130 is available only in a three-row setup, with room for eight passengers. We’d choose this Rover if you need to seat adults in the rear row.
Land Rover Defender OCTA
Looking for performance? Choose the Defender OCTA. This hulking SUV adopts the same frame as the Defender 110, but under the hood, you’ll find a growling twin-turbo V-8 with an output of 626 horsepower. It also benefits from an impressive hydraulic suspension, making it the most capable off-road SUV in our arsenal.
Land Rover Discovery Model Research
The Land Rover Discovery family comprises two SUVs: the three-row Discover and the two-row plus-two Discovery Sport. Both are family-oriented, luxurious, and plenty capable on or off the road. These SUVs serve as a great entry point to the Land Rover brand.
Land Rover Discovery
The Land Rover Discovery is a perfect middle ground for drivers who want to access the prestige and off-road capability of the Land Rover brand, without the higher price tag of many of the other SUVs on our lot. The Discovery has room for seven, and as much trekking ability as most drivers need. Choose this Rover for its upscale looks and off-road heart.
Land Rover Discovery Sport
The Discovery Sport is one of the smallest SUVs on our lot, but, like many of the models mentioned above, it still delivers a compelling mix of luxury features and off-road capability. While the cabin is smaller, the Sport has a unique design. The first two rows are standard fare, but an optional +2 bench can be installed for some extra seating in a pinch.
