The Range Rover has defined luxury and performance for over fifty years, but as we head towards 2027, a new Rover enters the mix. The 2027 Range Rover SV Ultra sits at the very top of the lineup, above the SV Black and the standard SV, as the brand’s most exclusive SUV ever. It pairs the platinum-level craftsmanship the SV is known for with technology that has never appeared in a production vehicle before. Built on the Long Wheelbase body, the SV Ulta is a dominating figure inside and out. This flagship iteration of the Range Rover is set to be one of the most exclusive vehicles in the world, as purchasing one requires an invitation from the brand itself. We won’t have any available to explore in person, but OKC drivers curious about it can still visit us to learn more about the Range Rover lineup. Our guide below covers the design, technology, and engine that set the SV Ultra apart from the rest of the Rovers.

SV Ultra Design and Exclusivity

At first glance, the SV Ultra looks pretty similar to the rest of the Rover lineup. The SV Ultra’s design is restrained, but rewards you for finding the details. It features a new Titan Silver Gloss with aluminum flake that helps it stand out, with Silver Chrome accents across the body. The premium treatment continues to the 23-inch alloy wheels finished in Satin Platinum Atlas. A reductive front grille and bumper carry the exclusive SV ceramic roundel and contrasting Range Rover script, keeping things in line with the “stealth wealth” design. Step inside and the materials do the talking. Semi-Aniline leather with Orchid White and Cinder Grey Ultrafabrics line the seats, carrying an intricate mosaic perforation with laser-etched detailing you won’t find anywhere else in the lineup. Even the wood is considered, with SV Ultra’s veneer coming from sustainably sourced rattan, tinted Orchid White to highlight its natural open-pore grain. Cargo space runs 71.9 inches behind the first row and 38.2 inches behind the second, plenty of room for the kind of trips this vehicle was built for.

Electrostatic Sound and SV Ultra Tech Features

SV Ultra earns its name most in the cabin. Electrostatic speakers debut here as a Range Rover exclusive, the first production application of this technology in any vehicle. Rather than a traditional cone, ultra-responsive membranes recreate audio with the kind of clarity you’ve never heard in a stereo system. The evolved Body and Soul Seat pairs with that system, syncing in-seat and floor pulsations to the music for the first time in both the front and second row. Rear passengers get their own show too, with 13.1-inch entertainment screens and built-in high-performance headphones. It also includes electrically deployed cup holders, an illuminated console fridge, and Dartington crystal glassware.

SV Ultra Performance and the Signature Suite

Power comes from a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with mild hybrid support, tuned in SV Ultra guise to 626 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. With Dynamic Launch engaged, that’s enough to reach 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and carry on to a 150 mph top speed, quick numbers for a vehicle built for comfort first. The standard SV and SV Black share the same twin-turbo V8 architecture at 606 horsepower, so the SV Ultra’s extra output marks it as the outright performance flagship of the family. We think of the extra power as more of a bonus than anything, as the technology onboard offers a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other vehicle on the market.

Range Rover has yet to release how many SV Ultras we’ll see in the wild, but seeing one on the road will be rare. We expect loyal Range Rover customers to receive an invitation to purchase the SV Ultra, while others will go to auction.
