2025 Velar Engine & Performance

The 2025 Velar is available with two powertrains. The starter powertrain is a P250, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. Looking for more pop? Try the P400 engine. The turbocharged and supercharged 3.0-liter inline-six generates 395 horsepower, 405 lb-ft of torque, and can jump to 60 in 5.2 seconds. The P400 is supplemented by a 48-volt hybrid system, helping the Velar get a little more power. Both engines pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and, of course, AWD. The Velar can tow up to 5,000 lbs, typically enough for smaller campers and boats. The P400 engine gets 19 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway, while the P250 gets 22 and 26, respectively.
