2022 Land Rover Range Rover vs. 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

2022 Land Rover Range Rover vs. 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon

If you’re in the market for a luxury off-roading SUV, you’re sure to be impressed by two of the leaders. Both the 2022 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon have a lot to offer buyers. However, some differences may sway you to the one that best fits your lifestyle as you drive around Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Edmond.

Primed to Perform

Both models are all-wheel drive, which makes them ideal for off-roading. The Land Rover boasts a slightly larger fuel tank for fewer stops at the gas station. It’s also more efficient with a V6 engine compared to the V8 of the Mercedes-Benz. However, the smaller engine doesn’t stop the Range Rover from being capable. This model provides a large payload at 1946 pounds over the less than 1400 pounds for the G-Wagon. The Land Rover also provides a slightly heavier towing capacity of 7716 pounds over 7000 pounds for the Mercedes-Benz. One of the major differences between the two models is that Mercedes-Benz offers just a single trim while Land Rover provides seven options, all priced lower than the G-Wagon.

Technology

Today’s drivers want every vehicle to have the latest in technology, even when they’re going off the beaten path or just out to have some fun. Both Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz understand the need for these features and meet drivers’ demands quite well. Wi-Fi is standard on both models with the ability to integrate a smart device. However, the Range Rover adds an optional head-up display, which isn’t available for the G-Wagon.

Luxurious Comfort

Luxury is standard on both the Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz SUVs. Leather seats are found on every trim with a leather steering wheel. You’ll appreciate the functionality of the Range Rover with a power liftgate as standard, which isn’t an option for the G-Wagon. Power mirrors and climate control are also standard for the two SUVs. As you get to the higher trim level for the Land Rover, you begin to see other differences. Cooled rear seats are an option for the Range Rover but not available for the G-Wagon. A heated steering wheel is standard on the top trim for the Land Rover while it’s an added option for the Mercedes-Benz SUV.

Making Safety a Priority

The two manufacturers provide exceptional safety on these SUVs. Backup cameras are standard along with lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. Both models include stability control, traction control, and brake assist as standard. Blin spot monitoring is standard on the higher trim levels for the Land Rover to match the Mercedes-Benz. The 2022 Land Rover Range Rover includes rear parking aid as standard while it’s not available for the Mercedes-Benz.
